A bodysuit looks simple. It is not. Getting one right means solving a dozen small problems that most brands never bother with. Here is what goes into every Ambitionist piece, and why each decision was made.
1. The fabric
Our Luxe Ribbed fabric is made from scratch in California: 92% modal, 8% spandex. Modal is exceptionally soft and drapes beautifully. The spandex gives recovery, so the bodysuit returns to its shape after a full day instead of bagging out. For our cotton styles we use a 95% cotton, 5% spandex jersey. Our tee bodysuits have a 100% cotton body for that classic, lived-in feel.
2. The back
Our Everyday Classic Tank has a low curved back that hits exactly where it should. It hides bra straps without looking like a compromise. It took many rounds of samples to get that curve right.
3. The bottom
This is where most bodysuits fail. Ours closes with a signature thong bottom made in Los Angeles from 70% nylon and 30% spandex. It is designed to stay put without digging, so the bodysuit stays tucked from morning to night. Snap closures make it effortless.
4. The fit
Every style runs true to size. Choose your usual size for a snug, smooth fit. I spent two years perfecting fit before our first launch, and every new style goes through the same process. If you have a long torso, lay your bodysuit flat to dry.
5. Where it's made
Every bodysuit is made in Los Angeles. Every piece is developed between New York and LA. Nothing is outsourced to a generic factory or pulled from a catalog. That is how we control every one of the details above.
How to care for it
Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low, or lay flat to dry. Made this way, your bodysuit will last wash after wash, year after year.
